The BOSS GT-1B is a compact and versatile bass multi-effects processor designed to deliver professional-quality tone shaping for practice, live performance, recording, and mobile setups. Powered by a bass-optimized BOSS sound engine, it provides a wide selection of bass amplifiers, preamps, effects, modulation, delay, reverb, and specialized processing tools in a lightweight floor unit.

The GT-1B combines powerful processing with a simple interface that makes sound creation quick and intuitive. Dedicated controls provide easy access to effect categories, while Easy Select and Easy Edit functions allow players to quickly choose patches and adjust important parameters. This makes the processor suitable for beginners who want great sounds immediately as well as experienced bassists who need fast control during rehearsals and performances.

Designed specifically for bass, the GT-1B includes a variety of preamps and advanced BOSS MDP effects that preserve the natural character and dynamics of the instrument. Bass-focused tools include limiter, distortion, graphic EQ, T-Wah, Harmonist, Bass Synth, Defretter, modulation effects, delay, and reverb. A built-in looper is also included for practice, songwriting, improvisation, and live performance.

The GT-1B is particularly well suited for musicians who travel frequently. Its lightweight construction and rounded design make it easy to carry in a bass gig bag without taking up much space or creating sharp edges that could damage the instrument. It can operate from an AC adapter or four AA batteries, providing approximately seven hours of mobile playing time.

For real-time performance control, the GT-1B features three footswitches, an assignable CTL1 switch, and an integrated expression pedal with toe switch. These controls can be assigned to functions such as patch selection, tuner access, looper operation, tap tempo, volume, wah, pitch shifting, and individual effect parameters. An additional jack allows connection of external footswitches or an expression pedal for expanded control.

The GT-1B also integrates with BOSS Tone Studio, providing computer-based patch editing and management. Players can create, customize, organize, and save sounds while accessing additional patch collections through BOSS Tone Central. USB connectivity also allows the GT-1B to be used for recording bass tones directly into a computer-based DAW.
