The BOSS GX-1 is a compact and versatile guitar amp and effects processor designed to provide professional-quality tones for practice, recording, rehearsal, and live performance. Combining advanced GX-series amp modeling with a wide selection of BOSS effects, the GX-1 delivers an extensive range of sounds in a lightweight, travel-friendly format that easily fits into a guitar case or gear bag.

Powered by AIRD technology, the GX-1 provides responsive amplifier tones with natural dynamics and touch sensitivity. It includes 23 amplifier types and more than 140 BOSS effects, giving guitarists plenty of options for creating everything from clean and ambient sounds to classic overdrive, distortion, modulation, delay, and reverb tones.

The GX-1 features a high-resolution color display and intuitive effect category buttons that make sound creation straightforward. The dedicated buttons allow you to quickly turn effect categories on or off, while longer presses provide access to detailed parameters. With eight simultaneous effect blocks, plus a volume pedal and noise suppression, you can build flexible signal chains and customize the order of your effects for different playing styles.

A standout feature is Gear Suite, which provides professionally configured settings for each amp and effect type. With a simple turn of a knob, you can recall complete sets of carefully tuned parameters and then make further adjustments to suit your playing style. Favorite settings can also be stored in user Gear Suite locations for quick recall.

The GX-1 provides extensive memory capacity with 99 preset memories and 99 user memories. This allows players to access ready-to-use tones while keeping plenty of space for custom patches created for rehearsals, recordings, performances, and specific songs.

For live performance, the GX-1 includes three assignable footswitches and an integrated expression pedal with toe switch. These controls can be assigned to effects, parameters, or multiple functions simultaneously. Additional control options are available through an external footswitch or expression pedal connection, while compatible wireless controllers such as the BOSS FS-1-WL Wireless Footswitch and EV-1-WL Wireless Expression Pedal provide even more freedom.

Bluetooth connectivity allows the GX-1 to connect with mobile devices for playing along with music, lessons, and other audio sources. USB-C connectivity provides a convenient way to connect to computers or compatible mobile devices for recording and playback through music production software.

The GX-1 also works with BOSS Tone Studio for GX-1, available for macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android. The software provides advanced sound editing, patch management, practice tools, and access to BOSS Tone Exchange. Features such as Session, AB repeat, speed adjustment, metronome, and rhythms make the GX-1 useful as an everyday practice and learning companion.
