The BOSS KATANA-500 Bass Head is a compact and powerful 500-watt Class D bass amplifier head designed for demanding live performances, rehearsals, studio recording, and practice. It combines a refined Katana bass preamp with a high-output power section to deliver clear, full-bodied bass tones with plenty of punch and headroom.

The amplifier features a four-band active EQ with selectable low-mid and high-mid frequencies for precise tone shaping. A dedicated Bottom control provides additional low-frequency adjustment, while the three-position Hi Cut switch allows you to control the amount of high-frequency content in your sound.

The Amp Feel control provides Vintage and Modern tonal profiles. Vintage delivers a warmer, more traditional bass character, while Modern provides a cleaner, tighter response with extended frequency range. A Shape function provides additional tonal options, while the Pad switch helps accommodate basses with high-output active pickups.

Dedicated Drive and Compressor controls allow you to add grit, sustain, punch, and dynamics without relying on external pedals. The Blend control lets you mix the direct bass signal with the processed sound for greater clarity and fullness.

One of the key features is Cab Resonance, which automatically optimizes the amplifier's output characteristics to work with the connected speaker cabinet. This helps improve the overall feel, low-end response, and high-frequency definition when using different bass cabinets.

BOSS Tone Studio provides access to more than 60 BOSS effects and allows deeper customization of the amplifier's effects sections. Through USB connectivity, you can connect the amplifier to a computer for recording, editing, and sound management. Built-in memory functions allow you to save and recall customized setups.

The KATANA-500 Bass Head also provides a versatile output section with dual XLR speaker outputs, XLR line output, USB connectivity, and a headphone output. Additional connections support an expression pedal and GA-FC foot controller for expanded performance control.
