The BOSS SY-300 Guitar Synthesizer brings powerful analog-style polyphonic synthesis to virtually any guitar or bass using a standard 1/4-inch cable. Unlike traditional guitar synth systems that require a special pickup, the SY-300 uses advanced BOSS processing to deliver expressive synth sounds with a latency-free playing feel.

The SY-300 features three simultaneous synth sections, giving you the ability to layer oscillators and create rich, complex sounds. Each section provides extensive synthesis controls, including multiple waveform options, filters, amp parameters, pitch controls, and LFO modulation. A built-in step sequencer with tap tempo can also generate rhythmic melodies and arpeggiated textures from your guitar playing.

Beyond synthesizer sounds, the SY-300 can process your normal guitar tone using its synth-style filters, amplifier controls, LFOs, and sequencer. This allows you to transform a conventional guitar sound into evolving textures, rhythmic effects, and experimental tones while retaining the natural character of your instrument.

The SY-300 also includes four simultaneous effects engines, providing effects such as overdrive, distortion, chorus, delay, reverb, phaser, slicer, rotary, tremolo, and more. These effects can be used on the synth sounds, the direct guitar signal, or both, providing extensive options for live performance and sound design.

For live control, the SY-300 features a graphic LCD display, four built-in footswitches, and support for two external footswitches or an expression pedal. It provides 70 preset patches and 99 user patches for storing custom sounds. The Thru output, Main and Sub outputs, effects loop, and MIDI connections allow the pedal to integrate easily into complex pedalboards, amplifiers, recording systems, and MIDI setups.

The SY-300 also functions as a USB audio interface, allowing guitarists to record directly into a computer or process audio from a computer through its synth and effects engines. BOSS Tone Studio provides computer-based patch editing and library management, while BOSS Tone Central and Tone Exchange offer additional sounds and Livesets.
