The Roland SPD-SX Professional Sampling Pad is a powerful and versatile sampling instrument designed for drummers, percussionists, DJs, producers, and live performers. Built for professional stage and studio use, it allows you to sample, import, store, and trigger tracks, loops, click tracks, one-shot sounds, and other audio with a simple pad strike.

The SPD-SX features nine velocity-sensitive rubber pads, allowing you to control sound volume and dynamics based on how hard you play. Each pad can be assigned to different sounds, while LED indicators provide clear visual feedback during performances, making the unit easy to use even in dark stage environments.

With 16GB of internal storage, the SPD-SX can hold up to 25 hours of stereo audio or 50 hours of mono audio in 16-bit/44.1kHz WAV/AIFF format. It comes pre-loaded with 210 samples, including loops, one-shot sounds, and melodic phrases, while 100 kits provide plenty of space for organizing custom setups.

The SPD-SX offers powerful sampling capabilities, including Basic Sampling, Multi-Pad Sampling, and internal resampling with effects. You can connect microphones or line-level sources directly to the analog inputs or use USB to record and transfer sounds from a computer. Built-in editing tools allow you to trim samples, adjust start and end points, change pitch and volume, and split or combine audio files without needing a computer.

For live performance, the SPD-SX provides Single, Phrase, and Loop playback modes along with multiple trigger options for precise control over how samples respond to each pad hit. Its three effects engines provide additional sound-shaping options, including filters, delays, and looping effects.

USB Audio/MIDI and traditional MIDI connectivity make the SPD-SX easy to integrate with computers, DAWs, software instruments, and other electronic equipment. It also supports up to four external pads and two footswitches, allowing you to expand your performance setup.
