The BOSS GX-1B is a compact and powerful bass amp and effects processor designed to deliver professional-quality tones for practice, recording, rehearsal, and live performance. Built specifically for bassists, it combines 16 AIRD amplifier types with more than 130 BOSS effects, providing a wide range of tones from clean and dynamic sounds to aggressive overdrive, distortion, modulation, and ambient effects.

The GX-1B uses BOSS AIRD technology to provide natural amplifier response and expressive playing dynamics. Its eight simultaneous effect blocks, along with a volume pedal and noise suppressor, allow players to create detailed signal chains for different songs and playing styles. Effects can be arranged and customized to build personalized patches with the exact combination of amp and effects needed for a performance.

Sound creation is made simple with the high-resolution color display and dedicated effect category buttons. The Gear Suite feature provides professionally configured settings for individual amplifiers and effects, allowing players to quickly find useful tones by turning a single control. Custom settings can then be adjusted, saved, and recalled whenever needed.

For live use, the GX-1B includes three assignable footswitches and an integrated expression pedal with toe switch. These controls can be assigned to effects, patch changes, parameter adjustments, and other functions. Additional footswitches or expression pedals can be connected for expanded control, while compatible wireless BOSS controllers provide cable-free performance options.

The GX-1B is also designed for modern recording and practice setups. USB-C connectivity allows it to connect to computers and compatible mobile devices for recording and playback, while Bluetooth connectivity makes it possible to play along with music from a mobile device. BOSS Tone Studio provides additional tools for editing sounds, organizing patches, practicing, and accessing Tone Exchange Livesets.

With four AA batteries, an AC adaptor, or USB power, the GX-1B can easily adapt to different playing environments.
