The BOSS RC-505mkII is a professional tabletop Loop Station designed for beatboxers, vocalists, multi-instrumentalists, electronic musicians, and performers who want extensive hands-on control over live looping. Building on the popular RC-505 platform, it combines five stereo phrase tracks, powerful effects, onboard rhythms, flexible mixing, and advanced control options in a performance-focused tabletop design.

The RC-505mkII features five simultaneous stereo phrase tracks, each with dedicated controls and independent volume faders. Its 32-bit AD/DA conversion and 32-bit floating-point processing provide high-quality audio for recording and playback, while the longer-throw faders offer precise control during live performances.

The expanded effects system includes 49 Input FX types and 53 Track FX types, with up to four effects available simultaneously in each section. Effects include vocal harmony, electric effects, and other creative processing tools for shaping sounds during recording and playback. Four banks are available for quickly recalling customized effect combinations.

For flexible audio connections, the RC-505mkII includes two XLR microphone inputs with phantom power, two stereo line input pairs, and three stereo line output pairs. Its onboard mixer provides microphone compressors, channel EQ, assignable output routing, master reverb, and compression for detailed control over the overall mix.

More than 200 onboard rhythm patterns and 16 drum kits provide synchronized accompaniment for loop performances. The RC-505mkII also supports multiple overdub modes, Bounce In, half- and double-speed playback, pitch-independent tempo changes, and the Mark Back function for enhanced undo and redo control.

The unit provides 99 phrase memories, each capable of storing five phrase tracks, effects, playback settings, rhythm selections, and control assignments. USB connectivity supports data backup, WAV phrase import/export, and computer-based music production, while extensive MIDI capabilities allow synchronization and remote control with compatible equipment.
